Hiring: Finance Manager




Miller Wenhold Association Management – www.mwassociation.com – is an association management firm located in Fairfax, Virginia.  Our clients are trade associations and non-profits. MWAM seeks a Finance Manager who will assist and oversee our financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, processing daily financial entries and reconciliations. This position will be responsible for weekly bank deposits. The successful candidate will accurately perform daily accounting tasks such as financial reporting, general ledger entries, invoicing, and recording payments and adjustments for multiple clients. MWAM offers a pleasant work-life balance office in Fairfax City, Virginia. This is a full-time, in-office, position. This is not a virtual position. This position must be willing to work in the Fairfax office location. The position requires a well-organized, motivated, self-starter who works with little oversight or supervision, is dependable and has a cheerful personality, is organized, and pays attention to detail. The successful candidate will possess:

  • Excellent ability to maintain and process full cycle accounting duties.

  • Proven ability to code and enter vendor expense invoices ensuring compliance with all established company policies and procedures.

  • Outstanding ability to process accounts receivable and invoice clients and customers.

  • Excellent knowledge of organizing reports, batches, schedules, statements, and relative analysis with documents involving comprehensive knowledge of complex systems and account relationships.

  • Outstanding knowledge and mastery of accounting procedures and methods.

  • Proven knowledge of account relationships with a comprehensive, intricate account framework.

  • Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including internal and external clients.

  • Demonstrated ability to ensure accuracy in all general ledger transactions.

  • Excellent ability to effectively communicate, including the ability to manage communications and working relationships between all departments within the firm and multiple clients.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple demands and meet deadlines; be detailed and organized.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly tax statements ensuring full legal compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and process full cycle accounting duties.

  • Code and enter vendor expense invoices and customer invoices ensuring compliance with all established company and client policies and procedures.

  • Process accounts receivable and invoice clients and customers.

  • Organize reports, batches, schedules, statements, and relative analysis with documents involving comprehensive knowledge of complex systems and account relationships.

  • Establish a high level of credibility and maintain strong working relationships with external parties including internal staff and external clients.

  • Ensure accuracy in all transactions.

  • Effectively communicate with internal staff and clients.

  • Manage multiple client financials.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports ensuring full legal compliance.

  • Prepare monthly financial update reports for all clients

  • Work with tax accountants to provide all documentation for yearly tax preparation.

  • Prepare yearly membership renewal invoices for all clients.

  • Reconcile bank transactions to proper accounts.

  • AP/AR maintenance.

  • Provide administrative support as needed.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years or more of accounting or bookkeeping experience.

  • A degree in accounting or financial management is preferred. Certified Bookkeeper designation preferred.

  • Extensive experience with QuickBooks Online.

  • Experience with Your Membership and Wild Apricot (Association Management Systems) a plus.

  • Strong data entry skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • AP/AR experience.

  • Manage credit card statements and reconciliation.

  • Experience or understanding of associations and non-profits is a plus.
