Hiring: Marketing & Communications Manager

Job Description:

Miller Wenhold Association Management (MWAM) – – is an association management firm located in Fairfax, Virginia.  Our clients are trade associations and non-profits.

MWAM is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to join our growing firm. This person will work closely with client account coordinators to execute strategies and content for our marketing, social media, and communication campaigns.

The successful person will work well in a team environment and be motivated to provide innovative ideas in team meetings. This person will need the ability to independently lead multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills will set this person up for success. This is a full-time position located in Fairfax City, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft and edit copy for all social channels working closely with client account coordinators

  • Craft and edit copy for marketing emails across all clients closely with client account coordinators

  • Gather all information from each client for social media content and create monthly content calendars.

  • Ensure that timelines and deadlines are met by working across multiple departments.

  • Lead weekly marketing brainstorming sessions

  • Collaborate with client account coordinators to create and oversee day-to-day content and schedule posts for multiple clients on various social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn)

  • Define metrics to measure and track social media efforts

  • Monitor feedback and data to drive insight for senior leadership

  • Web and social listening for trending content, events, and news

  • Event and conference promotion/coverage across social media channels, including live-streaming, event programming, live-tweeting quotes, and highlighting all partners

  • Assist with various association management team tasks as needed


  • 5+ years of marketing and communications experience

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field

  • Excellent marketing and promotional writing skills

  • Proven experience executing marketing and social media strategy

  • Ability to be creative and contribute to content brainstorming sessions

  • Knowledge of social media reporting and analytics

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Experience with Canva is strongly preferred or Adobe Illustrator is a plus

  • Basic video editing capabilities are a plus

  • Ability to communicate effectively across job levels and departments

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and set project timelines


  • $80 – 90k commensurate with experience
