Miller Wenhold Association Management Now Hiring Account Coordinator - Membership & Event Planning




Miller Wenhold Association Management – www.mwassociation.com – is an association management firm located in Fairfax, Virginia. Our clients are trade associations and non-profits.


MWAM seeks an Account Coordinator – Membership & Event Planning who will be responsible for developing and carrying out all membership management, certification, and conference/seminar planning duties for our clients. We are looking for someone to be trained by our current Senior Account Coordinator, to ultimately take over those responsibilities in 2022. We’re looking for a professional who can effectively manage time, prioritize work, and multi-task across competing assignments.


MWAM offers a pleasant work-life balance office in the Fairfax City, Virginia. This is a full-time position. The position requires an extremely organized, motivated, self-starter who works with little oversight or supervision, who can identify problems and quickly develop solutions that focus on results. This is not a virtual position. Applicants must be willing to work in the Fairfax office location.


Key Responsibilities:

  • All membership management and certification duties through YourMembership management software

  • Be responsible for updating client websites (YourMembership and Wordpress)

  • Provide support for project management.

  • Provide customer support to members via incoming and outgoing calls and emails

  • Assist in maintaining the accuracy of database records

  • Co-lead 3 annual conferences, 5-8 annual seminars, and board of director meetings

  • Site location, contract negotiation, program development, and speaker management

  • Create and manage registration process for each event to include set up of registration site, responding to registrants’ questions, maintaining accurate reporting of financials against actual attendance and providing a complete reconciliation following each event.

  • Participate in budget creation, monitoring revenue/expense for assigned events and programs.


Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in association management, membership management, conference/event planning.

  • Extensive knowledge of Your Membership association management system, or the ability to quickly learn.

  • Experience in event/conference planning or similar fields.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a strong emphasis on and commitment to customer service.

  • Knowledge of Zoom webinar platform

  • Strong editing and proofreading skills

  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe.

  • Excellent communications skills – both oral and written.

  • Ability to travel 2-3 times per year once in-person meetings start again

  • The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree with an excellent work record.
